Family and friends will all meet at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday March 7, 2023, at the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery for a graveside service with Rev. Ron Fisher officiating and Military Honors. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Steve’s name may be made to Middlesettlements United Methodist Church – Music Fund: 2729 Middlesettlements Rd., Maryville, TN 37801; or Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee: 136 Harvest Ln., Maryville, TN 37801, or to a charity of your choosing. Steve always wanted to help others. A Celebration of Steve’s Life will be planned this spring.

Steven E. Hammontree, 62, passed away at home February 28, 2023. He retired from the City of Maryville Fire Department and was a proud Air Force Veteran; a member of the 228th Combat Communications Squadron and the 119th Command and Control Squadron. He loved the UT Volunteer Sports, NASCAR racing and being on the lake. He loved the Lord and was a member of Middlesettlements United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his father: George Hammontree, grandparents: Fred and Myrtle Hammontree, and Jack and Mary Ruth Felty. He is survived by wife: Donna D. Hammontree, beloved son: David Hammontree, faithful companions: Lil’ Barry and Gracie, mother: Betty Jo Hammontree, sister: Debbie Holt (Rick), niece: Heather, great niece: Keilei, father-in-law and mother-in-law: Wayne and Sue Dickerson, sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Gail and Tony Bush, and many many friends and extended family members that he thought the world of!
