I didn't know this man, but my husband and I watched his funeral procession pass through an intersection a little while ago, and I was moved to tears. We saw about 50 wreckers as well as police cars, an ambulance, and quite a few regular cars in the procession. I said that this person must have been a great man. After I read his obituary to my husband, he speculated that he must have taught a lot of people his trade and given them their start, as well. I came on here to show my appreciation and gratitude for his sacrifices to our country and his benevolence to his community.

Hubert and my dad Charlie Lewis was friends for so many years and I grew up knowing Hubert and Sue, they was there when I was born, for my first Christmas and so many more of my mile stones but as I got older everytime I would see Hubert somewhere my first instinct was to run to him and get me my favorite hug. And when I was in high school before I started my senior year my dad passed away and they were the first that I ran to, to tell and the minute that they both hugged me, I knew everything was gonna be ok eventually. I can officially say thank you for everything. May you rest in peace. I love you and I’ll miss you for sure. All though you weren’t my uncle by blood, you will always be the best uncle that I could have ever asked for. Thank you for everything. Love Mary

Prayers for Hubert's family and friends. I did not know Hubert, but I am writing this on behalf of my late brother, Tony Hodge. Hubert was so very good to Tony. Tony was diagnosed with a rare neurological disease that eventually took his life. The disease was much like ALS and robbed Tony of his mobility and speech, eventually. Tony drove a tow truck for Hubert before he got so ill. After he became unable to drive, Hubert would often pick Tony up and take him on tows with him to get Tony out and keep him "in the business'. If Tony ever had a best friend, I am certain it was Hubert. For his generosity and love towards Tony, I will be forever grateful. At the call of the trumpet, may Hubert be called up first as he was an exceptional man.
