October 2, 1950 - June 24, 2026
Family will receive friends from 5 PM – 7 PM Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral service at 7 PM in the Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, July 6, 2026, at the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Dennis Lee Cooper, also known as “Chief” by his friends and family both near and far of Maryville, Tennessee departed this life, Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at the age of 75.
Dennis was proud of his Indian Heritage (Cherokee) on his mother’s side and (Apache) on his father’s side. Dennis was predeceased by his parents Lee and Jean Romero; sister, Connie Cooper.
Dennis is survived by two sisters, Joy Lucero and Rita Cooper, two nieces; Tamara Walker, Crystal (Alex) Hathaway, nephew; Shawn Cooper of Detroit. 4 great nieces, Trinity Walker, T’zara Wood, Archangela, Aria and (great-nephew) Tino Hathaway, along with (special friend and brother-in-law) Stanley Walker, as well as a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.
Dennis was a Vietnam Veteran; he was loved by many. He never meeting a stranger, he loved people, music, riding the mountains on his Harley.
He was a huge WrestleMania fan, loved fishing, He loved going to ALL his class reunions in Centerline, Michigan (where he played football). Dennis loved life, always talking about the Lord, and would spread the word of Jesus to everyone around.
The family would like to thank each of you for kindness and gratitude. We are in total “Awe “the number of friends and memories of my brother.
