Wilder Rankin Jennings, aged 2 months and 3 days, died in his parents’ arms at University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, TN on March 16, 2022, at 2:00 PM. After a sudden inoperable fight with NEC, he passed comfortably into the arms of Jesus. Wilder is the son of Nicholas Jennings and Savanna Malcolm. Wilder was born into this world at just 24 weeks kicking and fighting. Wilder fought every day for 2 months and continued to beat the odds each day he had on this earth. The days we spent with Wilder these past two months were not promised, but such a gift to experience a love like his. During his brief visit on earth, he enjoyed listening to music, snuggling with his parents, and getting to hold the finger of his parents, grandparents, and nurses. Wilder showed us an incredible strength and fight that we will need until the glorious day we meet again. Wilder was loved by not only those who had the chance to meet him, but also by those who knew his story. He will be greatly missed by so many people whose hearts he touched. Wilder is survived by his parents Nicholas Jennings and Savanna Malcolm, his grandparents Mike Malcolm, Traci and Steve Jennings, great grandparents Don and Betty Wear (Nana and Pop) and Kris and Gerald Hudson, and all of his aunts, uncles, and cousins. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to help with expenses.
