A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at Memorial Funeral Home: 1102 Big Springs Road, Maryville, TN In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.

Wayne Bruce “Big Bruce” Evans Sr., age 58, passed away on September 3, 2026. He was born on January 3, 1968, in Maryville, Tennessee, to the late Pink Shuman Evans and L.V. Evans.
Bruce was a hardworking, private man who was quiet by nature and lived life on his own terms. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially hunting, camping, and spending time at the family farm in Murphy, North Carolina. The farm was a place he enjoyed throughout his life, and he spent time there hunting and camping with family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pink Shuman and L.V. Evans, and his siblings, Francis Pearl Watson, Shuman Gay Evans, Kenneth Ray Evans, and Glen Harold Evans.
He is survived by his sons, Wayne Bruce Evans Jr (Dawn) and Isaiah Pink Evans, and their mother, Janie Evans; grandchildren, Reagan Evans, and Jace Evans; and his siblings, Shirley (James), Curtis of Maryville, Barbara (Mike) Cunningham of Maryville, Carolyn Toney of Granite Falls, North Carolina, Johnny (Becky) Evans of Dudley Shoals, North Carolina, Sue (Bruce) Crump of Lenoir, North Carolina, Betty (Jimmy) Stafford of Granite Falls, North Carolina, and Glenda Knight of Hudson, North Carolina.
