Obituaries

It is not without sorrow, but carrying the pain with his request of joy, that we announce the passing of Terry. Born out west, he went to high school at Newberg High in Oregon. He followed his parents, Marvin & Bettie to Friendsville, TN where they were pastoring the Quaker church. He completed some schooling at Tennessee Technical School & worked as a local tradesman in construction for most of his life. He went on to marry & have two daughters, Christina & Rachael, whom he adored. He owned & operated a small renovation business for several years of his life; his literal labor of love. He enjoyed crafting, fixing, building and was knowledgeable in his trade. He was always the class clown with a smile on his face. He was a devoted grandfather, affectionately known as “Grumpy” to his grandchildren, Jadon (JayDon) & girlfriend, Kelly, Jayden (Jay), Jensen (JT) & Journey (JRae). His silly, but sweet mantra was “Peace, love & jellybeans”. He was a bright, colorful & spirited soul who made people laugh. He tried to include everyone & let them know they were loved. There simply isn’t enough room to list all of the people he loved in his life. He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Hall, & his son-in-law, James Simerly Jr. He is survived by his mother, Bettie Hall. His children, Christina Simerly & Nathan Seymour. Rachael Hall & Alicia Pitts. His aforementioned grandchildren. His siblings Gene & Debbie Hall, Rodney Hall, Dana Hayes, Carmen & Rick Brownlie. Nieces & Nephews, Nathan & Kelly Hall, Corrin & Jodee Jenkins, Jaime Hall & Janie Prince, Nick & Jessica Hall, Lynsey & Brent Chasteen, Morgan & Spencer Shoffner, Megan & Josh Hindman, & Logan Brownlie (his right hand man). Many great nieces & nephews, stepchildren & grandchildren, cousins, extended family & friends all over the globe.
