Sandra “Sandy” Grace Jeffries, 72, of Maryville passed away in her home surrounded by her family during the evening of Sunday, March 9, 2025.

Sandy was a beloved wife, mother, nana, cousin, aunt, and friend. She was a lifelong resident of Maryville, where she raised a close-knit and caring family. Sandy was best known for her laugh and sense of humor. She had a huge heart and loved her family and friends fiercely, and the grief left behind in her absence is a reflection of the love others had for her.

Upon her passing, Sandy was greeted in Heaven by her beloved parents, John “Buddy” Whitehead and Polly Sue Farley Whitehead, sister Janice Whitehead, and nephew Jonathan Hicks. She is remembered on earth by her devoted husband of 47 years, Michael “Mike” Jeffries; daughters Jana (Jamey) Thacker of Maryville, Jocelyn (Joey) Carroll of Seymour, and Jill Jeffries of Maryville; niece Jessica (Toki) McCray of Maryville; sister-in-law Kathy (John) Abbott; beloved family friend, Hollie (Chris) Adams of Maryville; and several cousins. She will be forever missed by her grandchildren, Brenna (Gavin) Jeffries Garland, Kamryn (Aaron) and Nicholas Dagel, Olivia and Parker Carroll, and Dallas Thacker, as well as her great-nephews and great-niece, Donovan, Elijah, and Brystol McCray.

Although Sandy’s family is deeply saddened by her passing, they ask that Sandy be remembered for the beautiful spirit she was. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Chilhowee Community Center to support the community that Sandy called home.
