When I first met Sam we were in middle school and I immediately noticed how lively he was, and soon after, I came to find he was one of the funniest people I had ever met. He always knew how to make you smile or a joke that would make you laugh. And his generosity had no end, he was completely selfless. He had such a sense of showmanship and charisma that displayed just how unique Sam truly was. He is an absolutely unforgettable person, a kind soul, and someone I am proud to call my friend. You are dearly missed, Sam.

This world lost one of its brightest lights. Sam was 90 miles an hour every moment I spent in his presence, larger than life, never shy, and always upbeat in spite of personal struggles. He dearly loved to make people smile & laugh. He was loved by family and friends. He is missed, and there are empty places in a lot of lives. Heaven is a happier place with him there. Peace and comfort to his family, as you remember happier times.

Sam was a good friend through middle school into high school. We made good memories together that I'll hold with me the rest of my life. He was funny and energetic and full of life and passion. I know he touched many people's lives, along with mine. I'll miss him.

My heart is breaking for your family. I remember Sam's little kindergarten face in my classroom and that beautiful smile that lit up the room. I was so lucky to be his teacher again in fourth grade and still remember him coming back to visit us when he left Fairview. I send my prayers for peace to you all. Thank you for sharing him with me for a short time. Karen Campbell

The first time I met this dude was his 6th (maybe 7th?) birthday. He was so excited to show us his house and especially his piano, which overwhelmed his small frame but not his bright smile. As he grew I loved seeing him at school events, and he would always bound up to us with “hello Audrey and Audrey’s mom” as the greeting. He had a sharp wit, a huge heart, a creative flair, and effortlessly endeared himself to everyone he spoke to. My heart aches for his loved ones, especially the young ones who do not have a lifetime of experience to help them navigate the ebb and flow of grief. Words, like tears, tumble and fall short.
