Russell Otis Clendenin, aged 69, went to be with the Lord on March 4, 2024, at UT Medical Center at 5:56pm surrounded by family who loved him dearly. He was born on September 21, 1954, in East Saint Louis, Illinois to Dan and Liz Clendenin. He resided in Maryville, Tennessee and graduated from Bethel Park High School in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania in 1973 and graduated from Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania in 1977.

Russ was lovingly known to friends and family as Rusty, Russy, Roc, Dad, and Gramps. Russ loved the Lord and was active in the church for many years. Russ was known for his sense of humor and many shenanigans which was a lot of fun (most of the time) for those who knew him. Russ loved the theater and was active as an actor, techie, and director for many years since his high school days. He enjoyed shopping on Amazon, fishing, watching his grandchildren grow up and play sports, loving his wife, going to church, spending time with family and friends, and spending time with his beloved Diabetic Alert Dog, Autumn. Russ loved to make others laugh and had a big personality, but he was also a very loyal and loving friend, brother, husband, uncle, nephew, cousin, father, and grandfather. Many who knew him loved him and his fun personality.

Russ proceeded into the next life greeted in heaven by the Lord and some loved ones who were already there to greet him. Those who greeted him in heaven include his parents, Dan and Liz Clendenin, his brother, Doug Clendenin, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Reverend William and Virginia Parsons, and his Diabetic Alert Dog, Summer. Russ left behind many who love and miss him (so many we can’t name them all). His loved ones who will always miss him include: his loving wife of 48 years, Nancy Parsons Clendenin; his son and daughter-in-law, Phil and Becky Clendenin; his daughter and son-in-law, Joy and Frank Erjavec; his grandchildren, Emma, Anna, Pete, Ben, Frankie, Jourdan, Taylor, and Savannah; and great grandchildren, Delaney, Magnolia, Bellamy, and Nora; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike and Nanci Clendenin, John Clendenin, and Bill and Pam Parsons; many nieces and nephews, an aunt, cousins, close friends; and Autumn, his Diabetic Alert Dog.
