37801 on the 27th anniversary of Richard and Cheri’s first date, Friday, February 21st from 4-5 PM.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard (Dick) Everett Martin of Maryville,
Tennessee. Richard, beloved husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, brother, and uncle passed away
peacefully, at home, on January 25th at the age of 77. Richard was born on September 14, 1947, in
Miami, Florida to William Ettle Martin and Ruth Naomi (Van Wagoner) Martin.
Richard graduated from Miami Palmetto High School in 1965. He was a disabled Veteran of the US Army
and was honorably discharged in 1972. He graduated from the University of Missouri in 1973.
Richard loved life and always played full out, particularly enjoyed contributing to the Brevard County
Florida business community. He was a fun-loving recreational pilot, high-school and college football
player, risk taker, adventurer, entrepreneur and had a variety of careers in the food, finance, and
marketing industries.
He met his wife, Cheri, in Melbourne, Florida in 1997. In 1998 they began a web agency and online
marketing company and ran it together until he retired in 2017. They married in 2000 and moved from
Satellite Beach, Florida in 2023, where they had made their home together for 23 years, to their favorite
vacation spot, east Tennessee, where they had the opportunity to enjoy many fun adventures together
until his decline.
Richard is going to be deeply missed by his wife of 24 years, Cheryl (Cheri) Martin, his children, step
children, and grandchildren; son Jon-Evin Martin (Adrianne) grandchildren Natalie and Joshua, son
Daniel Martin (Leslie) grandchildren Nathan, Rowan, and Harlow, daughter Kristi Pack (Clinton)
grandchildren Madigan, Halli, and Russell, daughter Anna Wise (Shane), step-son Brian Collen (Alexia)
grandchild Liam, step-daughter Rebecca Collen, and step-son Christopher Collen.
Richard will also be dearly missed by his brother William Martin (Vickie), nephew Jamie Martin and niece
Jyl Krakowiak, his sister Lyn Hullinger (Greg), nephew Stephen Hullinger, as well as by his nephew and
niece’s families, many cousins and Cheri’s sisters and brothers and their families.
Richard is preceded in death by his mother Ruth (Naomi) and father William (Bill).
Richard’s family would like to give a special thank you to the Sevierville Gentiva Hospice team who made
the final days of Richard’s life comfortable by showing him such care and compassion. As well as the
Mountain Home and Knoxville, Tennessee Veteran Affairs (VA), Brighter Days Home Care, and Adoration
Home Health. Collectively they supported Cheri in caring for Richard at home.
