Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at 7 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Maryville, TN with Pastor Jeff Dockery officiating. Family and friends will gather at Bethel Cemetery in Townsend at 1 p.m. on Wednesday for the graveside funeral service. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home

Ollie Green Born November 19, 1945, Died September 7, 2024, she was born in Newport, TN, Ollie Green grew up in Knoxville, where she met and married the love of her life, Rev. Fate Green. Together, they shared 60 years of marriage, moving to the peaceful mountains of Townsend, TN, where they spent four decades serving their community through their work at Friendly Hill Missionary Baptist church. Ollie faithfully assisted Fate, dedicating herself to the Lord’s work and supporting the church in many meaningful ways. She was preceded in death by her parents Bert and Bessie Gilland, brothers Larry (Judy), Roger (Dorothy) and David (Kathy) Gilland, sister Dwaynia (Tom) Sawyer. Surviving sister Carolyn Sharp (Roy). Ollie dedicated her life to her family, being a loving and devoted mother to her three children: Ronald Green (Donna), Dana Richardson, and Jamie Taylor (James). She was also the proud grandmother of four grandchildren: Ron Green (Misty), Shayne Fuller, Jordyn Walker, and Noah Taylor. Her legacy continues through her four great-grandchildren: Addisyn Fuller, Mason & Emmett Green, and Covelynn Kilby. Known for her warmth and kindness, Ollie was truly a Mamaw to everyone she met. She had a deep passion for cooking, often sharing meals with loved ones and friends, and her talent for jewelry making brought joy to many. Her love for her family and community will forever be remembered. Ollie’s life was a beautiful reflection of service, love, and dedication to her faith, her family, and her friends.
