The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday January 14, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 P.M. with Rev. Bill Dixon officiating. Family and friends will all meet at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Maryville Baptist Tabernacle Cemetery for a graveside service.

Margaret “Peggy” Cooper, 88 of Maryville, passed away January 10, 2026. She was a member of West Maryville Baptist Church. Peggy was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and thought of as a “mamaw” to countless others she provided childcare to in her home. She will be sorely missed. She was preceded in death by husband: Jimmy Cooper, mother and father: Vaughna and Cecil Carpenter, brother: Don Carpenter, sister: Barbara “Jo” Frank, and several nieces and nephews. She is survived by her children: Linda and Frank Woody, Mitch Cooper, Donna and Rufus Rogers, and Joel and Deena Cooper, grandchildren: Susan Woody, Cory Rogers, Megan Payano, Amber Watts, Eric Grimm, and Jordan Cooper, great grandchildren: Michael Watts, Kaylee Watts, Kenslee Rogers, Cameron Watts, Jaxson Watts, Eliza Payano, Avi Payano, Nora Payano, and Maddie Rogers, chosen family members: Julie and Joe Hylwa, Cassi and Ty Hylwa, and Missy Hatcher.
