The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Saturday October 25, 2025, at Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Jeff Welshan officiating. Entombment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens at 3:00 P.M.

Lonnie “Mousie” Cooper, age 82 of Maryville, entered Heaven’s Gates on October 21, 2025. He graduated from Everett High School, Class of 1961. He was a long time employee of Blount – Greenback Farmers Co-op. He was founder of Smokey Vue Farm where he raised registered Black Angus Cattle and registered Hampshire Hogs. He was a Master Beef Producer, a supporter of Blount County 4-H and FFA, member of the Blount County Farm Bureau Committee Board, Blount County Soil Conservation, Blount County Livestock Association, East TN Cattlemen Association, Tennessee Cattlemen Association, and Hopewell Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He loved farming and sharing the experiences of being a farmer. He always enjoyed taking his pigs to school events and church events and to the Townsend Heritage Center Fall Festival. He was preceded in death by his parents: Clifford and Mary Cooper, and brother: Danah Cooper. Lonnie is survived by the love of his life for 61 years: Phyllis Turner Cooper, daughters: Tanya Cooper (Rick Tuck) and Teresa Farmer (Marcus). He was blessed with 3 grandchildren: Andrew and Amelia Farmer, and Eliga Cooper. He was also survived by his brother-in-law: Melvin Turner (Sharon), nieces and a nephew, and many cousins and friends. A special thank you to UT Hospice for their constant care and support. In lieu of flowers, make a donation in memory of Lonnie to the Blount 4-H or FFA clubs or to The Pat Summitt Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Association.
