The family will receive friends at Memorial Funeral Home 1102 Big Springs Rd. Maryville, TN 37801 from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Friday February 27, 2026, with a celebration of life service to follow at 2:00 P.M. Along with the good folks at Memorial, the family would like to say a special thank you to Marie and to all of the caregivers at Shannondale of Maryville who helped make Lloyd’s last few weeks peaceful and comfortable. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to either the Gideons International or St Jude’s Children Hospital in Memphis, TN.

Lloyd Weston Smith of Knoxville age 97, passed peaceably into the loving arms of his Savior on February 20, 2026, in Maryville TN. Lloyd was a longtime member of Fairview United Methodist Church in Maryville where he served on many committees and taught Sunday School. He was a proud and active member of the Gideons. By profession Lloyd was a dairy farmer and a businessman. He loved cattle, horses, and all things agricultural. Along with farming, during the 1950’s, 60’s, and 70’s Lloyd and his wife Patricia owned and operated the John Deere tractor dealership in Maryville. In recent years they owned and operated Fox Stables in West Knoxville. If you were around Lloyd, you knew that he loved his family, and loved his Lord, he would talk about both to anyone who would listen, and he loved a good joke-even if it was on himself. Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife of 75 years, Patricia Fox Smith, parents Oliver Anderson Smith and Alva Bell Seaton Smith, his daughter Cindy Smith Shields, a great grandson James Weston Smith, Four Brothers Oliver Smith II, Alvin Smith, Frank Smith, George Smith, Three sisters, Ruby Crockett, Elma Lee Thomas, and Gladys Lockmiller. He is survived by his children, Weston Smith (Brenda), Joe Smith (Jeanie), David Smith (Carla), a sister-in-law Pat Smith, many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
