Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday, September 3rd, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 6:00 PM. Burial will take place immediately following the funeral all at Chilhowee Primitive Baptist Church, located at 7200 Happy Valley Rd, Tallassee, TN.

Jeannie Drake Shope, age 74, of Maryville, Tennessee, peacefully concluded her brave battle with cancer on August 31, 2025, and has now returned to the loving embrace of our Lord. A devoted servant of God, Jeannie dedicated her life to her faith, which she cherished with her whole heart. She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Frank and Lucy Drake. Jeannie is survived by her steadfast and loving husband, Mike Shope. Her legacy continues through her children: Walter Williams, Nancy (James) Morton, Lisa (Ray) Mills, and Angela VanDyke. Jeannie took immense joy in her grandchildren, Austin, Sadie, Carter, and Gabriel, who were the light of her life. Jeannie often expressed her deep relationship with the Lord, affirming, “The Lord is mine, and I am His.” Her faith and love will remain an enduring inspiration to those fortunate enough to have known her.
