James “Paul” Jollay, 60 years of age, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at UT Medical hospital. Paul was born on August 28, 1963, in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was adopted at the age of 6 by James Howard (deceased) and Arlene Jollay (deceased). Paul was a decorated Veteran from the US Army, stationed throughout the country and parts of Europe. From his military days, he never lost touch with the strict routine that he had come to know. Paul was selfless. He constantly put others’ needs before his own needs and was driven to provide anything needed for his family.
He strove for perfection in all that he did. He was a loving father, brother, and friend. Although he went through many trials throughout his life, he always tended to look on the bright side. He was a master gardener that took pride in every seed he planted, an avid caretaker of his aquarium and their residents, and as someone who watched the computer industry take off– he took extreme interest in keeping up with the latest technology. Paul was an organ donor and continued to save lives as his final selfless act after he passed. Paul leaves behind his children, Chris Jollay, Josh Jollay, Jimmie Jollay, and Jessica Jollay Schrimsher; siblings, Dicie “Kimberly” Jollay Johnson, Cindy Elmore Pate, Billy McCoy, Rebecca Jaynie McCoy, Cathy Graham, and Sandy Robert McCoy; sister-in-law, Sandra Pierce; nieces and nephews, Brandy Jollay Shands, Devlin Shands, Carey Brown, and Kristen Rush plus countless others; Granddaughter, Oaklyn Elizabeth Jollay.
