Obituaries

James Calvin Crisp, age 78, went to sleep and woke up in Heaven on September 1, 2025.  Preceded in death by his wife, Lola Carolyn Crisp; brothers, Raymond, Michael, Marvin and wife Karen; sisters, Lorene, Patricia King, Carol Nuchols, Melissa M. Browning, Dean and husband John Mullaney.

Survivors include: Daughters, Cami and husband Layne Ingle, Beverly and husband Rodney Hitson; son, Matthew and wife Ariane Crisp.  His pride and joy are his grandchildren; Kaela and husband Kevin Stafford, Erin Ingle, Caleb and wife Imbri Hitson, Jeremiah and wife Ashlyn Hitson, Katie and Benjamin Crisp; great grandchildren, Kaden, Maddie, Caroline, and Abigail Stafford, brothers, Paul and wife Linda Crisp, Mark and wife Sharon Crisp, Roger Crisp (Edna), Barbara Ogle (Cecil), Cindy Burnett Crisp, and countless nieces and nephews.

He served in the US Navy from August 19, 1965, to August 18, 1971.  He loved the Lord and was faithful to church.  He was willing to talk to anyone about God and how God enriched his life.  He worked his career in carpentry, building homes, apartments, businesses, and metal buildings all around Tennessee and surrounding states.  He was a certified electrician and welder and master carpenter at his trade.  He did not come across any stranger.  He would sit and talk as if he knew you for years.  His talents, craftsmanship and stories will sorely be missed.
