Obituaries

Gordon “Hobby” Perkins passed away on May 11, 2023, at the age of 78 years old.  He was the owner of Hobby’s Carpet.  He never knew a stranger and loved going to flea markets on the weekend.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He will sadly be missed by family and friends.  He was preceded in death by parents: Ralph and Lillie Perkins, and brother: Dennis Perkins.  He is survived by his wife of 58+ years: Sandra Perkins, daughters: Kim (Johnny) Garner and Teresa (Jeff) Goforth, and son: Scott (Jenny) Perkins, grandchildren: Josh Goforth, Jessica Garner, Taylor Goforth, and Maci Perkins, sisters: Nellie Peak, Shirley Raines, Faye Hearon, and Darlene (Troy) Rudd, brothers: Tommy (Shirley) Perkins, Ronnie Perkins, Cecil Perkins, and Wayne Perkins, along with many nieces and nephews.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Saturday May 13, 2023, at Memorial Funeral Home.  Family and friends will all meet 2:00 P.M. Sunday May 14, 2023, at Pine Grove Cemetery in Greenback for a graveside service with Paster Ed Cloud Sr. officiating.
