Genevieve Baxter Kidd Begley passed away peacefully on October 19, 2023, surrounded by family and good friends. Genny was born in Cocke County, Tennessee and celebrated her birthday on July 11. Genny worked in car dealerships and was co-owner of Central Shoe Store. She was Civitan district governor representing Maryville Alcoa Civitan Club. She was instrumental in developing the Special People’s Park in Townsend, organizing yearly Santa calls, special people’s dances, and a myriad of Civitan projects. She was a devoted MaryKay user and representative. She loved Precious Moments, sequins, and sharing wisdom with family and friends. Genny happily took the role of GranGen to her granddaughter Rachel Ann Baxter (Nicholas). Genny was generous with her time, love, friendship, pool, scrapbooks, and laughter. She loved to travel with her three sisters. She cherished friendships with Shirley Brown and Anna Kay Morgan. Genny was fortunate to be adored by her two husbands, Jack Kidd, and Thomas Begley. Genny and Jack enjoyed camping and hosting swim parties for the family. Genny and Tom enjoyed ballroom dancing and Cades Cove. Genny is preceded in death by parents, Sam and Jewell Baxter, husbands Jack Kidd and C. Thomas Begley. Other family who preceded her in death include John and Olga Baxter, Shark and Betty Cox, Jack and Melba Bruce and Linda Baxter. Genny is survived by brother Don Baxter (Billie), sister Roma Bridges (Melvin), Bridget Jenkins, Kim Cox (Betsy), Lori Linginfelter (Shannon), Wayne Baxter (Kim), Preston Baxter (Kimberlee), Bradley Baxter (Amber), Steve Trent (Connie), numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.
