The family will receive friends 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. Friday October 28, 2022, at Memorial Funeral Home, 1102 Big Springs Rd, Maryville, Tennessee 37801. Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. with Pastor Rex Everett officiating, burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Ellen C. Martin of, 79, of Blount County, was welcomed into heaven on October 24, 2022, in Maryville, Tennessee after a 10-year battle with dementia.  Ellen was born in Blount County on September 10, 1943. She married Jimmy Charles Martin on December 12, 1960 and dedicated her life to raising their five children. True to her upbringing, she was a good Christian woman with a gentle touch and a heart of gold. She was the greatest mother a child could wish to have and loved the Lord with all her heart.  Ellen is preceded in death by her loving husband Jimmy Martin, her son Teddy Martin, sister Lorene Blevins and her parents Grace and Marvin Blevins, and birth father Dewey Effler.  She is survived by her siblings Sonny Blevins (Sandra), Bonnie Carr (Jim) and Pauline Reed, children Teresa Moyers (Tim), Tammy Alley (Robert), Tracy Martin (Suzanne) and Trina Chesteen (Scot); daughter in law: Janet Martin, grandchildren Sara Nuchols (Josh), Katie Pacheco (Gabriel), Tiona Hickman, Crystal Hightower (James), Brandon Alley (Kayla), Kelly Alley, Braden Shearl, Jensen Martin and Kyle Keith, Tyler Chesteen (Tiffany); and greatgrandchildren Addison Nuchols, Brock Pacheco, Bexley Pacheco, Mystorie Moyers, Jordan Hickman, John Hightower, Atalie Hightower, Noah Alley, Kaisley Alley, Austin Alley.  The family of Ellen wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at Brookdale Assisted Living at Browns Creek for loving and caring for their mother for the past three years, special friends Dorothy and Julia, and special thanks to Jimmy Alley.  Pallbearers will be Tracy Martin, Robert Alley, Brandon Alley, James Hightower, Scot Chesteen, and Kyle Keith.
