Emotions overflow like a fountain as we express a huge loss of life for our sweet loving Momma, Nanny, Nana, and Granny, Donna Mae Hopwood. She unexpectedly made her journey to Heaven to join her late husband James “Hoppie” Hopwood, the morning of July 2, 2024. Donna was born in Caldwell County, KY on October 22, 1951, to the late William T & Dixie Mae Fields of Dawson Springs, KY. Donna was of the Baptist faith and had a passion for caregiving for 40 plus years. She lived her short life of 72 years to the fullest. She was strong-willed, independent, and stubborn at times. Donna was best known for her incredibly enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. She loved the mountains, gardening, cooking, vacations to the beach, and her sweet baby dog “Wee Wee”. She spent her last days always showing her ultimate compassion and love to numerous families. Donna was the loving sister of three brothers. She is preceded in death by two brothers Albert Fields and Thomas “Tommy” Fields. She leaves behind her loving brother Ricky (Patty) Fields. She’s survived by four children, daughters Tina McBride and Beverly (Nelson) Fleming; son Donald (Cherie) Turpin; and daughter Crystal (Jon) Dunn. Six grandchildren, Michael (Brandi) McBride; Kimberly (Jason) Morgan; Danielle Drennan; Timothy (Ashley) Hayes; Joshua (Elizabeth) Stroud; and Courtney Dunn. Great grandchildren, Ashleigh, Jayden, Zack, Layla, Kellie, Izzy, Alexis, Gabe, Abigail, Lucas, Billy, and “Baby Girl” Stroud (due in January), who were her greatest blessings, along with countless other family members. Her departure comes as a great shock and a deep wound, and it is gravely felt by her entire family and countless others in the community.
