There will be a celebration of life with Pastor Jim Malone officiating at 4:00 P.M. Sunday October 16, 2022, at Zion Chapel Baptist Church, Ralph Phelps Road in Louisville. The family will fellowship with guests from 3:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at the church.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Smoky Mountain Animal Care Foundation: 233 Currie Ave, Maryville, TN 37804 in his honor.

Bruce Rodgers Harrington age 86 born March 2, 1936, passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord on Thursday September 29, 2022. He worked for the Blount County Highway Department for 25 years before retiring in February 2012 and worked many years at Maralco Battery Company alongside his good buddies: Lloyd Lawhon, and Wayne Best. He was a member of Ballard’s Chapel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife: Helen Harrington, parents: Hobert Rodgers and Elsie Maude Gentry Harrington, brother-in-law: Gary C. Burchfield, sister-in-law: Alice Katherine Wilson. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law: Pamela and Gary Abbott, son: Lynn Rodgers Harrington, sister-in-law: Sharon Choat (Dennis), numerous cousins and extended family, Carolyn Trentham, and Susan Dunlap, who cared so much. Many special friends: Tim Lindsey, Kevin Ivens, Sandra Russell, Charlotte Pritchard, Ronnie Myers, Josh Buckert, Jason Johnson, and Debbie Teffeteller. Other special friends and neighbors in the Forest Hill Community that Bruce knew for over 60 years that he thought of as family. The family would like to thank Blount Memorial Home Health Services for their excellent care especially from Becky and Melissa. Also U.T. Home Health services for their assistance.
