Obituaries

I loved chatting with Barbara about many things, and especially about her fried chicken that she served at Broadway United Methodist. I was amazed that this lady spent a whole afternoon in that kitchen frying chicken on the stovetop - then she let me know it was oven-fried and happily and proudly gave me the recipe. It's the only chicken that's up there with my late mom's. Rest in peace, Barbara, with all those loved ones who have gone before you. It was truly a joy knowing you.

Her daughter Rhonda and I were best friends for over 50 years. During that time I got to know Barbara. She gave til it hurt, (always her way) while she was still able to cater for others. She was near her family and always had "contributions"!

When I lived with my grandma I would visit her everyday and she'd tell me stories about her childhood or we'll watch a movie or I'll vent to her about my friend's she would show me old pictures from her many photo albums. She taught me how to bake and would color eggs with me during Easter. I wish I got to see her a lot more when I moved away. Miss you great grandma
