Artha Edwin “Eddie” Stewart, 80, of Greenback, TN went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 24, 2025, at home surrounded by his family. Eddie was born on December 26, 1944, to Guy and Justine Stewart in Bruce, MS. When Eddie was four, his family moved to Michigan. After living there for 10 years, his family returned to Mississippi. He graduated from Bruce High School in 1962. He left for Memphis, TN the night of graduation and started working the next day for his cousin at Stewart Flooring Covering. In 1968, he started as a service worker at Power Equipment Company (PECO) and later became Service Manager. He retired from PECO in 2009 after 41 years. After retiring from PECO, he moved to Greenback, TN, to work in construction with his son, John, until 2023 when heart problems prevented him from working anymore. Eddie accepted the Lord as his Savior at the age of 22. Afterwards, he joined Colonial Baptist Church in Memphis, TN, and was a faithful member. In August 2000, he was ordained as a deacon. After moving to Greenback, TN, he transferred his church membership to Dotson Memorial Baptist Church, where he remained until his death. He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Justine Stewart. Eddie is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dianne Leachman Stewart; his children, Deloria “Dee” Brown (Keith) and John Stewart (Liz); his grandchildren, by whom he was affectionately called “Papa”, Joy, Dorothy, Ruth, Gideon, Elsie, Craig, and Nehemiah Brown, Kara and Thomas Stewart; his siblings, Fred Stewart (Sue), Gary Stewart (Diane Shinn), Joe Stewart (Lisa Parris), Trella Oyler (Mike), as well as many dearly loved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
