March 17, 2033 - January 10, 2022 Service Date: January 1, 1970 Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Rocky Branch Missionary Baptist Church in Rocky Branch Community, with receiving of friends from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M., followed by the service with Rev. Tom Waring and Rex Everett. Burial will follow immediately in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Gideon association, or Rocky Branch Missionary Baptist Church. Wanda Lynn Everett Hodge, AKA, Nanny, Little Red, Wilomena, and Little Woman of Walland, TN passed from her world of pain, into her home where there is no pain on Monday, January 10, 2022. Wanda was born on March 17, 1933, in Maryville, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents: Ellis and Mamie Garland Everett, and her parents-in-law: Herman and Anna Hatcher Hodge; brothers and sisters-in-law: Kenneth and Charlene Everett, Ronald (Shorty) and Zelda Everett, Robert Donald Everett, sister: Reba Jo and James Cope. Her in-laws: Raymond and Inez Hodge, Eloise and Noah Hearon, Virginia and Don Stevens, Edna and Fred Whitehead, and Joy Reagan. She is survived and mourned by her husband of 69 ½ years: John Max Hodge, daughters: Connie White of Friendsville, Donna (Jack) Gregory of Walland, Terri (David) Myers of Walland, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson, sister-in-law: Lula Everett, brother and sister-in-law: Arthur (Bud) and Helen Hodge, Ben Reagan, and aunt: Dorothy Everett, several nieces and nephews and cousins. Wanda was a graduate of Walland High School, Knoxville Business College, and retired from Blount Memorial Hospital. Mother was well known in the community for her ability to play piano and sing, she and dad sang together in churches for many years; actually, she sang on the Midday Merry Go Round Radio Program as a young woman. Her greatest pleasures were in cooking and feeding family and friends, and she always waited on others first. Mom and Dad attended and were members of several churches in Blount County, Clinton, Oak Ridge, and was recently a member of Rocky Branch Missionary Baptist Church in Walland. The family would like to thank Dr. Mark Green, Dr. Mathew McCarty and the staff at UT Oncology at Armory Place in Maryville, Dr. Laura Yount and the staff of Blount Memorial Hospital, and Blount Memorial Hospice staff for all their care; also, her dear friends: Lucy Caglia and Hilary Harmon, special neighbor and friend: Paul Ray Millsaps, longtime friends: Smokey Martin and Gilbert Ray.
