James “Jim” Wiley Cooper, 83, peacefully went home to be with the Lord Thursday, October 8th at 9:39pm after a 2 year battle with parkinson and dementia. Jim was born in Cades Cove on May 10th 1938 and lived in Townsend, TN. He retired from Alcoa Aluminum Company in 1993 and was a preacher for 50 years at Tuckaleechee Primitive Baptist Church. Jim enjoyed reading his Bible, crossword puzzles, fixing lawn mowers, and hunting for ginseng. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and two daughters. Jim is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda Cooper, and children; Christa, Kelly, Skeet, James, and Tim. He has 13 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. |
