June 9, 1930 – February 19, 2020. Nellie Lewis Winters, 89, of Maryville gained her angel wings on Wednesday February 19, 2020. Nellie was the matriarch of a large family. Her family was her life. She called most of them almost daily just to check in and say hello and make sure everyone was doing okay. Nellie was the owner of City Monument Company. She also did sandblasting. She sold Artex Tube Paint and used to have paint parties. She painted many pictures of butterflies amongst other things. She had a sense of humor. She liked to tease the staff at Blount Memorial Hospital and at Morning View Transitional Care where she spent quite a bit of time lately. Nellie is preceded in death by her Husband: Lloyd Lewis and her Daughter: Tammy Hearon. She was also preceded by her second Husband: Harley Winters and her Parents: Daniel and Beulah Morton Phillips, her brother Danny Phillips, Sisters: Shirley Graham and Audrey Norton Felty. She is survived by her children: Charles and Edith Lewis, Carol and Wayne Burleson, Bobby and Pam Lewis, Teresa Lewis, Grandchildren: Chuck Lewis, Madison Burleson, Angie Owens, Ginger Hearon, Cindy Mathews, and Billy Earl Hearon, great grandchildren: Sarah Hearon, Adam Mathews, Billy Hearon Jr., Autumn Hearon, Chelsea Lewis, Abram Riddick, Brothers: Ernest and Mary Phillips, and Wayne and Sharon Phillips, Sisters: Faye Riden and JoAnn Thompson along with several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Fly high like a butterfly Nellie. You will be missed by everyone. |
