Ricky Sweet

Ricky “Rick” Sweet, age 66, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at the home of his brother and sister-in-law. Rick grew up in Friendsville, Tennessee, and was a former pastor of Pioneer Baptist Church, where he dedicated his time to sharing God’s Word and serving others. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. His faith and the memories he shared with those around him will continue to be cherished by all who knew him.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Wilford and Elizabeth Sweet; and his brother and sister-in-law, Kenny and Joann Sweet.He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Diane Sweet; sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Carlos Ownby; nieces, Bethany Hood (Phillip) and Jennifer Cable, and their families; nephews, Will Sweet (Stephanie) and James Sweet (Ashley), and their families; special friend, Lucy Conkle.
