Condas (C.D.) Arwood age 85 of Louisville passed away Monday, May 12, 2025, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Blessed Hope Baptist Church, and a Veteran of the United States National Guard. C.D. retired as a store manager at Weigel’s at the age of 82 due to a fall. He was a workaholic and truly loved taking care of customers in the store. He began his career as a young man in the grocery stores of Cas Walker where he met a young Dolly Parton, Roy Acuff, and Chet Atkins on the Farm and Home Hour. He always told stories about things that happened in the store and friends he made along the way. After working for Cas Walker for several years he ventured out on his own where he and his brother Bobby owned their own store for several years. After that he bought a couple of convenient stores of his own and after selling them, he worked as a manager for Weigel’s until his fall in 2021 or he would have still been working. He loved to work more than anything and his favorite saying was NEVER GIVE UP! He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by parents: Condas and Ruth Arwood, brothers: Robert (Bobby) and Angelo Arwood, sons: Johnny and David Arwood, nephew: Jeffrey (Hippie) Arwood, and 2nd wife: Beverly Arwood, grandparents: David and Sarah Arwood, and James and Ida Moats. He is survived by former wife and mother of his children: Barbara (Arwood) Hale, daughter: Linda and Steve Kyte, granddaughter: Selena and John Stout, nephew: Rick and Patti Arwood, Bill Arwood, Robert (Neal) and Tina Arwood, and Brian and Kim Arwood. Special thanks to the staff of Blount Memorial Hospital and nurses, and doctors in the SICU Unit for taking good care of him. |
