A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 P.M. with Pastors Paul Dyar and Hugh McGarity officiating. Private graveside service and interment will be Sunday, January 19, 2025, at Timber Ridge United Presbyterian Church in Greeneville, TN. James Melvin Moore, affectionately called “Mel,” 74 of Maryville, passed away peacefully Friday, January 2, 2025. Mel retired from the United States Postal Service after 28 years of service. In addition, he was employed by General Motors in Michigan for 17 years. Mel was an avid and talented bowler with many perfect “300” scores to his credit. Mel was a member of the Alcoa-Maryville Church of God. He served the Lord as music director there for six years. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Helen Roberts Moore; son Bill (Ellie) Adkins, two daughters: Shawna Martinez and Amy Phillips; His mother Louise Moore; Grandchildren: Cody Adkins, Kaylee Adkins, Angelica Martinez, Kaylyn Martinez, Avariella Phillips; brother: Len Moore; Brother and sister-in-law: W.C. (Alice) Wilhoit. He was proceeded in death by his father Yuel Moore and mother-in-law Mary Lamb Roberts. |
