REV. ROBERT J BUCKNER
Rev. Robert J Buckner, age 76, of Maryville went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 28, 2024. Robert made a decision to follow Jesus Christ at an early age and spent time accompanying his father to local and surrounding jails to preach the gospel. He was a graduate of Baptist Bible College and Johnson Bible College. As a former pastor and always a preacher at heart, he took every opportunity to share the good news. That zeal for spreading the message of salvation continued throughout his life and later he hosted an evangelistic television and radio broadcast. Robert remained a devout believer in Christ and a member of Allegheny Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Henry J, and Billie Jean Buckner, brothers, James Marcus Buckner and Henry J. Buckner, Jr. He is survived by daughters Tammi Hodges and Melissa Buckner Dunlap; grandchildren Ashley Hodges, and Mason Dunlap; brothers Tim (Terry) Buckner, Bill (DeAnna) Buckner, Tommy (Lisa) Buckner, Brian (Cindi) Buckner and Myron (Susie) Buckner; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
