Linda Lou Martin Gardner passed away Thursday, August 15th at the age of 71 after a decade long battle with dementia and 15-year battle with Parkinson’s. She passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Linda maintained her kindness, compassion, and appreciation for family and friends. Linda was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and wife. Her life can best be encapsulated by several “F” words: Family, friends, flowers, food, and fun. She experienced an abundance of each and mostly loved her great grandbabies, who were her pride and joy. She loved to be fun and be silly with everyone. She enjoyed gatherings with her family and friends and especially when they brought flowers and food!. Linda was born and raised in Cherry Bottom and Jacksboro Tennessee. After graduating from Jacksboro High School in Campbell County in 1970 she obtained her nurse’s license and dedicated her life to helping others. She focused her career and prided herself in taking care of the elderly.
Linda and her daughter moved to Maryville in 1989. She met her husband Charles in 1995. They married in 1996 and moved to Georgia close to his family. She and Charles then moved back to Maryville in 2003 after a back injury left her disabled. She was back home in Tennessee with her daughter and grandbabies. Over the next 20 years she lived happily with her growing family that gave her 5 great grandbabies. Linda was most happy when her family was together for whatever reason. Linda was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Irene Martin of Jacksboro, brother Don Martin of Jacksboro, brother David and wife Lois Martin of Jacksboro, sister Jean and husband Denny Nelson of Jacksboro. Linda was also preceded in death by the love of life, Charles, who passed away almost 3 months before her. Linda is survived by daughter Billie Jo and husband Brian Satterfield of Maryville, grandson Robert Wm. Bryant of Maryville, granddaughter Jordan Farris/Bohannon and husband Nick with g-grandsons Tyr Lakota and Atreus of Maryville, grandson Xavier and Chelsia Satterfield with g-granddaughter Bristol Kate and g-grandson Barrett Roman of Corryton, and granddaughter Lauren Satterfield and fiancé Steven with g-grandson Braxton Everett of Lebanon.
